YG Early Life

YG (Young Gangsta) was born as Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson on the 9th of March 1990, in Compton, California. YG was born to his mother Shonee Jackson, who ran a daycare business and his father, who went to jail for tax fraud soon after YG was born.

YG had a troubled childhood, he didn’t receive any formal education except for a few years in Mayfair High school and then Paramount High school. But worse than that, he became a member of the Bloods gang pretty early on in his life in 2006.

He’s reportedly still a member to this day and has been involved in a number of blood feuds with rival factions. There was even an attempt on his life when he was shot in the hip.

Thankfully, he didn’t die and even came to the studio the next day to record a song! However, being in a gang didn’t hamper his success that much as he released his first single “Toot it and Boot it” in 2010 at the age of 20.

YG Career Achievements

It is safe to say that YG got into the rap game very early in his life. After releasing his debut single in 2010, which was ranked number 67 on the Billboard hot 100, the rapper was signed to Def Jam Recordings. YG is still signed to Def Jam Recordings to this day.

While signed with them, YG released numerous mix tapes including “4 Hunnid Degreez” and “The Real 4Fingaz”. However, in 2013, YG signed an additional deal with CTE world, the imprint of rapper Young Jeezy. Both of them were featured on the CTE world mixtape “Boss Yo Life Up Gang”.

But the album that brought him the most success was “My Krazy life”, which featured guest stars like Kendrick Lamar, Nicky Minaj and Jeezy.

The album was ranked second on the Billboard hot 100 and was later certified platinum by the RIAA. All of this success has led him to the YG net worth.

YG Personal Life | Family, Affairs, Hobbies

YG may have found love early in his life with his girlfriend Katelyn Sparks, who is also a famous rapper, and even they even have two daughters, Vibe and Harmony Jackson, but his troubles with gang violence have continued throughout his career and even to this day he’s always looking over his shoulder for the next attack.

We already mentioned the June 12th, 2015, incident in which YG was shot in the hip at a recording studio. What you didn’t know was that there was another incident preceding this one. On January 25th, 2012, shots were fired at him during the filming of his music video “I’m a Thug”.

After the incident, Police shut down and closed the set. In December 2019, YG and Kehlani were reported to be dating and the duo confirmed the news later on. However, the duo broke up soon after because YG was caught cheating.

All of this proves that having an incredible net worth like YG net worth doesn’t mean all is good and dandy, and that the balance between professional and personal life is very important.
